The Indo-Caribbean Windrush Oral History Project aims to document and preserve the life stories of Indo-Caribbeans who migrated to the UK during and in the aftermath of the Windrush era (1948-1971).
Contemporary memorialisation of Windrush migration has often overlooked the experiences of Indo-Caribbeans, so this project aims to celebrate and increase the visibility of Indo-Caribbean heritage in the UK. By sharing these vital stories, we hope to contribute to the ongoing research on the enduring legacies of indentured labour, transatlantic slavery, and colonialism within the Caribbean and its diaspora.
